A Boring Head Without a Tail

Here's a neat little project from Chuck St. Louis in the Oct/Nov 2005 Machinist Workshop magazine. Great little tool if you don't have a full set of Silver and Demming drills. With only a couple boring bars you can easily bore from 1/2" to 1" starting with a 1/2" drilled hole. It took me about 8 hours to build. I didn't have the O-1 steel for the shank, so I used Kasenite to case harden it for longer service. Other than that it's pretty much as Chuck St. Louis wrote it up.
