Finder Bracket

This is a simple finder mounting bracket for a friends telescope. He had an existing bracket that I had made a couple of years before and he wanted a copy of it, except 1/4" higher.

It is made from a piece of extruded aluminum that was originally a static foot plate on an old IBM computer. This extruded part had the 90 degree bend as part of the extrusion.

The bracket mounts an 80mm finder telescope on a much larger instrument. The finder has a 1/4"-20 foot made to mount it to a tripod. The thumbscrew on the bracket threads into that foot. There are suitable holes drilled for mounting and aligning the bracket. There is an older bracket in the photo and the new bracket is the one with the round knob.
