KRF OMNI-POST Quickchange Toolholders

Shortly after getting my EMCO-MAIR Super 11 lathe in 1987, I began wishing for a quick change toolholder. The KRF Company was advertising a promising system in The Home Shop Machinist. They offered completed ready to use systems as well as drawings and material. I ordered the drawings and found some suitable raw material at a nearby scrap yard. It was a bit of work, but I slowly machined a set of 12 toolholders over the next couple of years. The latest was a dedicated block for my clamp style knurling tool. KRF Company is still in business and still offers the drawings, material and ready made sets of the OMNI-POST system. http://www.krfcompany.com I have been very pleased with mine and would recommend them to anyone. The only holder that has ever given me any trouble is the cutoff blade holder. I suspect that since I didn't case harden the holder, that the soft surface steel just isn't solid enough to properly support the cutoff blade. The rigidity of the Super 11 is also part of the problem with cuttin off. I'm in the process of building a rear post cutoff holder that should improve my success rate.
