Rotary Table Centers
Last fall, I purchased a 6" PHASE II rotary table from Enco. It didn't come with any centering
fixtures, so I made a couple. One has a fixed .500" spigot and the other has a removeable .500" center. Tom Moore,
of the Houston Metal Shop Club provided me with an overstock of well used 3/4" MT2 drills. Several are badly
chipped, bent or otherwise not worth saving. I sawed the drill flute end off the MT2 shanks, and the remaining
MT2 shanks became my "stock" for the centers. My lathe spindle has an MT5 headstock taper. I used an MT5 to MT2
sleeve to accurately hold the shanks for machining. This old drill steel machines pretty nice.
My PHASE II table is now ready for the first project that will require it's use.
